Humber Prison Entrance Sculpture

In June 2013 I worked with seven inmates of HMP Everthorpe in creating an 8ft totem-style sculpture, the theme being “Reducing Reoffending.”  The 3-dimensional design showed one hand reaching down and pulling another up ~  a positive and uplifting symbol. Positive words (ACHIEVE, WIN, CHANGE, ASPIRE, AIM, PROGRESS) were carved around and along the wrists of the hands.

March 2014 saw the amalgamation of HMP Everthorpe and HMP Wolds to become HMP Humber, and the sculpture sits proudly at what will be the new main entrance.
