Puck Started

It was nice to have a day at ground level after tottering about on ladders for a week; give it a day or two and I’ll be moaning about having aching knees from kneeling down for hours on end!

I’d done a couple of sketches last night to give myself something to work from, but mainly of Puck’s head ~ I had a vague idea of him being surrounded by oak leaves as though he were hiding, and the leaves would make a link with the main design. I hadn’t planned anything for his hands, thinking the carving would suggest the position of them as it went along.

I’m happy-ish with that for a first day.

The view from Grays Court Hotel steps, the carving standing out quite nicely.
