The same process for this one, off with the bark and then a drawing to guide the carving.

This trunk is marginally bigger than the first, but I still had to make the guitarist slightly smaller than the drummer, as the guitar itself took up more space.

I flattened the guitar as well as I could, so it didn’t bend around the trunk too much.

Then it was on to shaping the hands and arms.

It struck me today how much time is spent chipping away at awkward fiddly bits that probably go un-noticed ~ but are essential to the design and structure:

The plan is to finish the guitarist tomorrow, although there’s quite a lot to be getting on with. I’ll give it a good go anyway.
