The Moorlands Nature Reserve is part of the ancient Forest of Galtres and has a spectacular collection of rhododendrons and azaleas, some of which are very old, large and unusual. It’s a beautiful setting, and I visited the site to discuss ideas for a trail including tree carvings, marker posts benches and a throne/seat.
One of the interesting trees which I hope to be carving in May and June.
Apparently the woods are thronged with visitors admiring the famed rhododendrons around that time, so it’ll be nice to have some interaction whilst carving.
