The third week of the carving workshops at Mires Beck, North Cave, and the end of the sessions for some participants.
The workshops follow a familiar pattern ~ mad panic for the first hour or two as participants think the task is going to be beyond them, followed by increased confidence and enjoyment as the three weeks pan out, ending with delight at their creations. A regular comment is that the activity is so relaxing, almost meditative ~ it must be the steady sound of mallet on chisel and the beautiful surroundings.
Gordon’s finished frog Caroline with her carved owl
Some have just finished their second session, and two more have just had their first; a good aspect of this is that the carvers can see how their work will progress at different stages.
The second week for Kate and her hare
The second session for Sylvia’s squirrel
David’s first session, and the trout is well on the way
Four new participants next week!
