Yes, the Autumn carving workshops at Mires Beck have come to a close, and as always the sessions have been really enjoyable ~ with lovely people, beautiful surroundings and some brilliant sculptures at the end of it. It’s a special moment for me when each participant takes their carving off the saw-horse, places it on the floor, and takes a few steps back to admire their handiwork ~ the delight and pride on their faces is wonderful to witness.
Norman’s impressive owl carving.
Susan’s fantastic frog.
Derek’s great Green Man ~ soon to be a water-feature, with the water coming from the mouth.
Tony’s striking carving ~ either his house-number or a present for his grandson’s recent birthday!
Debbie’s marvelous moon-gazing hare.
All excellent stuff, and no doubt a taste of things to come for more workshops next year at Mires Beck; hopefully we’ll be holding Spring, Summer and Autumn courses again ~ anyone interested please get in touch, either with myself or Mires Beck, North Cave.
Well, we can’t finish without the obligatory fungi photos from Mires Beck, so here they are:
More next year!!
