Log Benches for Moorlands

I enjoyed working on these two benches for Moorlands; after struggling with uncooperative wood on site it was nice to carve some crisp, white sycamore. The designs were kept simple and clear and the shape of each log was full of character.

Pete from Pete Bowser Tree Services again sawed the logs to shape perfectly and I set about laying out the lettering after a spot of sanding.

I framed the text with an owl and a squirrel, which seemed to compliment the quote from the poem.

The second bench followed the same process, with a design echoing the first.

Pete sawed some log feet to raise the benches up, and transported them to Moorlands where they were carefully placed in position.

The benches fit seamlessly into the environment, and have already drawn many favourable comments from visitors to this magical place.
