Gnome on a Throne

This was another job right up my street ~ a fantasy / faerieland element, nice timber to work with, and very enthusiastic and excited clients!

An old double-stemmed ash tree had been taken down and had been transformed into a nicely-shaped throne; my job was to carve a friendly gnome on the back rest, with a snail and a hare on the sides.

The shape of the back rest was made for a gnome with a big pointy hat, and after a few different sketches a design was agreed on and off we went:

The ledge underneath was a later addition, to cover up a couple of light chainsaw marks
