On to the third panel on a scorching, busy Bank Holiday Weekend, this time with a curled-up, content-looking fox; the text to be carved next to it was, “I like this place and willingly could waste my time in it” ( from Shakespeare’s “As You Like It”).
I had compiled a list of the 14 quotes / verses some time ago for approval, and it’ll take some careful consideration to pair the text with the timber ~ each slice of Monkey Puzzle is different, with the knots in varying sizes and positions. Looking further on I’ve noticed that some of the more narrow slices have far more knots and will require shorter text and smaller wildlife carvings ~ but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it!
